Did you know that once you hit 30 years of age, whether you’re a man or a woman, your body starts aging FASTER than normal? Studies have shown that without the proper nutrients and exercise method, your body will age about 6 months EXTRA for every year that passes. Imagine that! If you were 35, that means by the time you hit 39, you will LOOK and FEEL 45. And by the time you reach 60, you will LOOK and FEEL like you were 70 YEARS OLD! I see this every day in my pharmacy… otherwise, just look at the people around you, and have a guess at their age… you will be surprise at their real age.
Did you know that 90% of people over the age of 35 lose enough muscle every year to burn off an additional
4 lbs. of body fat? That means you not only lose the only thing on your body that creates shape, tone, and strength – you also gain more fat every year, even if your calories stay the same. Did you know that we are going to waste 1% of our muscle and another year 1% of the total of previous year, and following year another 1% of the previous year, and so on and so forth IF we do not eat or totally omit the right protein that our body need every day? If you went too extreme low in both quantity and quality of protein for let’s say… 18 years, you will have lost 18% of your muscle masses!

That there are specific ways to move, eat, feel, and thoughts that tell your brain to STOP this rapid aging process… and even SLOW IT DOWN to the point where you’re aging less than a year for every year? What Is Your Biological Age?
This is not fantasy talk. I know I might be still too young to talk about this topic. BUT, in fact, my biological age was 28 when tested at the age of 18. And now? I reverse it. My biological age now was 18 when in fact, my real age now was 29. How did I did it? This does NOT require a boatload of anti-aging drugs, supplements, detox diet, detox tea bags, being raw vegan, vegetarian, fruitarian, or gimmicks. And this works for anyone, male or female, and works at any age… 35, 45, 55, 65, 75… you name it. The biological is exactly the same.
My years as pharmacist working at the community pharmacy have allowed me to have a chance to be a pharmaceutical industry insider. Over the 8 years, I have witnessed blatant lies and false nutritional knowledge and out-dated information on nutritional facts, marketing tactics, and much worse from some of the best-known supplement brands and pharmaceutical brands in the business. I understand how and where consumers are deceived.

No way!

Detox Diet Myth 1:
Living In A Lifestyle With Lots of Fruits, Juicing, and Raw Vegetables Everyday are Good For You!
When I work in the community pharmacy, I ask most of my patients who seek for detox solution, “What is your first choice or method to cleanse your body when it comes to detox?”. And people always answer me that they will consume LOTS of fruits and raw vegetables thru juicing or becoming a raw vegan or vegetarian for a few days or a week, some even say that they are doing it as often as they could.
Eating more fruits and raw vegetables have been the craze now for decades… And yes, fruits and vegetables are magical, as they contain antioxidants that help destroying the free radicals that are being produce daily by our body and from the environment. And so people think that maybe if they eat/ drink lots of them, they will be able to “cleanse” (a.k.a. detox) their body and feel better afterwards. So, some people, including me, even took it to the end of degree, I became a raw vegan, vegetarian, fruitarian, and I did all of these stuff for a year, following what the internet is popular and people around me saying… and I went way too far.
And the end results? Normally not as glamorous as you think it is nor the benefits stating on the internet was true. We feel hungry every 15 to 30 to 60 minutes, low energy, sicker, i sleep >10 hours a day and still feel extremely sleepy and tired, bloating tummy all the time, acne keep popping out around my mouth and jaw area, mood swing all the time, feeling depressed, body fat percentage 21%, hard to gain muscle masses, weight dropped drastically, and I am more addicted to sugar and carbs than any other time in history.
I start to look around… What has that wonderful bit of advice done for my body and people who had the same experience as I had? And, most of the people are passing these habits to our next generation and kids thinking that it is still a healthy option to “detox” the body with fresh fruit juice or raw vegetables juice.
In fact, if we do not eat enough quality protein, which I did not eat enough during the “cleansing” weeks and months and years… when we’re on an exclusive veggie or fruit juice cleanse for a longer period, you are restricting foods like protein for days on end. And we will start experiencing the opposite effect of what you’re trying to achieve, as we need proteins for certain detoxifying enzymes to do their job properly.
Besides, if your detox plan is low in protein, which means your liver can’t perform phase 2 detoxification, that actually helps expels those nasty toxins in your body, according to JJ Virgin, Celebrity Nutrition & Fitness Expert, author of NY Times bestseller The Virgin Diet. And this also means that without sufficient protein, you risk increasing your toxic load while still thinking that you are detoxing, and that is why you feel really sick and awful during detoxification process! So, bottomline? Doing protein fasting was great as 1-2 days per week, BUT you don’t have to live on a detox! And it’s time for a change.
